Hard to have a bad day yesterday (2/19) with weather like that, but the fishing was good too. Caught this 18" walleye on an a-rig which is a first for me. Caught in 8' of water. I also caught a personal best for Stockton 19" bass. I was really surprised by how much bigger the 19-incher was compared to an 18-incher caught earlier. The mouth and gut were massive compared to the 18.

I would have liked to have caught more fish (about 6 bass total), but I was happy with the quality. All fish caught on the a-rig.

HA HA You are right, I guess I am buying an A rig, I really need to spend some more money on fishing.

I admire anyone who can catch anything this month. I guess I have been fishing to deep?? Very nice walleye, good job on the bass too !

We put in Sunday at the Stockton ramp and fished from the Dam down to Price.  I couldn't find a fish in anything shallower than 30' of water.  We caught 2-15" smallmouth and a beefy 16" spotted bass on jigs while walleye fishing out deep.

Finally found some walleye around noon all in 35'+.  Ended up with 3 keepers and lost a couple at the boat.  Not a horrible day once I kept reminding myself it is still February.

Water was consistently around 47 and as clear as I've ever seen it.

I don't feel too bad, about fishing deep I just wish I could get bit. I am doing something wrong for sure. I even bought minnows, and nothing. Sounds like an awesome day you both had !

I think with the water clarity sun makes them go deep,  with clouds they come up into the warmer water, OK duh, so what is the best way to cover ground ?

eagle1584 what kind of graph are you using ?

Went yesterday too and had a ball. Out of Mutton about 6:45 and fishing till 4:30.  I would say I caught roughly 20 to 25 bass and would have had a small limit.  Almost all the fish came on the brown jig with a green trailer in anywhere from 6 to 20 feet.  I found them on deep channel swing banks and just inside points in 6'.  I also caught a few on a R.C. crankbait but couldn't buy a bite on the a-rig.  About 3:00 I ran to a main lake point (B8) and decided to throw a jerkbait.  The second cast I caught a keeper walleye and then on the 5th cast I caught a beautiful 21", 3 to 4 pound Eye....both these fish were in less than 3' of water.   With all the wind and dark rainy skies yesterday I should have spent more time fishing for the Eye's, I think a guy could have done well.   My water temps were 44 @ start and ended up around 48.   It's coming hard, even the globe willow trees have busted the green out.....and that seems to be a full 3 weeks early.  Tight Lines All!
