Note the phrase " “My dad and I didn’t really know what type of fish we had in the boat until we got back to the boat ramp,” said Nolan.

So you boys can name every fish that swims in our waters by site?

Or you can just name every game fish by site?

When Suckers can't be found then anything that swims is gonna get poked. Deny it if you want, but it happens all the time.

Suckers present, suckers not present...doesn't matter to some.

I knew you'd be here in defense mode.

I believe the right thing to do if you can't positively identify the fish would be to NOT stick it.    Do you shoot meadowlarks when dove hunting?  As a waterfowler I'd expect you to be one in favor of positive identification before the kill.

Of course when quote the whole phrase, it takes the juice out of the sour lemons you are trying to create. Kinda like alternative facts.

“My dad and I didn’t really know what type of fish we had in the boat until we got back to the boat ramp,” said Nolan. “We thought it looked like a shad, but really couldn’t believe that it was because of its size.”

So they knew it wasn't a game fish. But that kinda ruins the thought of them being rogue giggers. And then you add this tidbit:

“Believe it or not, that shad was the only fish my dad and I got that evening,” he said.

Not the only fish they seen, the only fish they gigged. Dang outlaw giggers! Shut them down now!!

How come you give THEM more credit than you give ME ?  Everytime I open my mouth you find some bad in it.  Yet everytime someone gigs a fish they failed to identify properly you see nothing but good intentions.

You be trolling me homey? ?

Why are you quick to discredit them? Really the only part of the whole conversation we know about is what's quoted. We don't know the content or context of what was said. But we have attempted to discredit gigging from a partial quote.

If they gigged a game fish, I would be standing with you. But they didn't. They followed the law. But you are trying turn it into something it's not. It's you boys trolling.
