Fantastic, thank you very much for such an excellent read.  If you don't mind, what kind of stuff lake structure was Carriere throwing that Damiki rig on and approx. how deep?

It is getting very close to Spring Break and there are lots of posters here that would just love to get there grand children and children on a bite like that regardless of the size, it does not matter as long  as you are getting the young ones bit.

Thanks Mike that was just Super.

He was fishing main lake bluffs with timber. Some fish were on the graph and some fish he didn't see. Also, several fish he would pull up to a tree and drop the Damiki rig beside the tree and catch one. We caught a ton of fish on the bluffs just past big cedar also..and my heart breaker 15 1/4" crappie!!  He was using the 1/4oz head with the Damiki split tail bait they sell. He had smoked'em pretty good in practice on the Ned fishing the bluff bank between the bluff wall and the trees.

I was very impressed with what Tyler had found with his limited practice..he had made the top 50 cut at Okeechobee, drove all day Sunday and Monday and only practiced on TR for 1/2 day Tuesday and 1/2 day Wednesday.

Congrats Mike, thanks for the read!

Thank you again for keeping me in the loop on what was going on on the Rock 2 or 3 weeks ago. I wish I would have went down and practiced in the clear end because Tyler Carriere asked me the last day if I had anything that I wanted to hit.

Congrats on a job well done. Glad to hear you had three great experiences with your boaters. I had a couple in the Northern Opens that turned their back electronics around so I couldn't see them and purposely did not move the net to catch a jumping smallmouth on Lake Champlain. I bought some Damiki Shads  and jig heads to fish them here in Michigan, but will bring them to Table Rock this year as well, along with the Ned Rig! Thanks for the heartfelt post. We are always hurt when we are so close, but sometimes forget how well we really did in this type of competition. Good luck the rest of this year.

I was also up at Champlain last fall for the northern open!  I had a couple great pro's up there also..including Alton Jones jr. I've been close a couple times in flw tour tournaments but this one I really felt like it was mine to lose. Still a lot of fun and a good payday!
