Any preference on a brand of trolling motor battery for a 12 v minn kota terrova. Was just going to go to wally world and get a group 29 but the review I read online were not that impressive.

I like the Excide deep cycle batteries I have for my trolling motor.  Decent prices at Menards.  I have two group 29's for my 24v Maxxum.

There are only a few companies that make batteries so brand doesn't mean a lot.  The most important thing is reserve capacity.  12 volt tmotors draw more amps than higher voltage ones so you should be looking for 200 reserve capacity.  Next is free replacement warranty period.  Finally, do you want absorbed glass mat, flooded cell with removable caps or flooded cell with sealed caps?
