Did get some today, saw some fish 20 feet down in a cove, mix of small bass and bluegills, tired a wacky rigged Berkley trout worm hoping to catch some redear, but caught a couple of small bass and one nice bluegill. I think that if I had used redworms I could have caught a few, they would peck around at the trout worm, but didn't seem convinced it was real food (and it ain't). Muddy Water 1

There is a point in temp where I think the fish start feeding on perch quite a bit. Usually right around that low 60 degree range when the green sunfish, gills, etc., Get more active. That's when the brighter greens can really start popping, or the Shadz. Quillback 1
Members Austin McCracken Posted March 21, 2017 Members Posted March 21, 2017 What weight do you use on your Ned? I have been using 1/15 with not much results.

Lately is has been 1/16 or 1/8 for me, a few weeks ago I was using 1/8 all the time for casting distance and getting it down deep faster, but now that things are warming up I am throwing 1/16 more and fishing shallower. You should be getting some bites on 1/15 size, what brand of head and hook size is it? Are you throwing a cut Zinker?
Members Austin McCracken Posted March 21, 2017 Members Posted March 21, 2017 I have been throwing the zman shroom head and the trd.

Quillback Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 I'm a big fan of Dtrs5kprs mushroom style heads and putting a cut Zinker on them. Austin, here's a link to videos that Dtrs put together on the Ned, several posts down. Lots of good info there. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/54987-so-you-have-ned-rig-questions/ Muddy Water 1
SRV1990 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I only use cut ZinkerZ, and the only two colors I have in my bag are green pumpkin and PB&J. But I've seen many posts about the color "Dirt"... Is Dirt slang for the actual name? And is it made by Z-Man, or is it another brand? Thanks! "You can always justify putting off a decision... but you can't put off the results of indecision."

Think I only have six bags or so packed, as opposed to 45+ of PBJ. I thought you maintained all of your inventory line items in minimums of gross and peck lots? Six? How would you even know you had them? I would have thought that six packs would be listed under, "spoilage, spillage and breakage"? dtrs5kprs and Champ188 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Yes Z-man and Dirt is the name of it, just look for the name of the color "Dirt" on the package
