jeb Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 Just a bit over 11.5" in rain gauge for the storm. Incredible amount of rain on top of already saturated ground. Old Prairie Creek Rd is impassable with water and torn up pavement. Watched the pro's weigh in at the ramp. Pretty poor bags, only 1 or 2 had 5 bass. One said there was only 3-4 inches of clearance getting back under the bridge. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Stump bumper Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I just saw were they stopped generating at 5pm last night just as we were getting this rain. Makes one wonder, is because Table Rock is not able to handle it right now? Mike jones 1

Quillback Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Read in the paper today that the White near Clarendon is expected to peak tomorrow. From what I can tell from reading various sources, is that they aren't going to move water out of the White river chain of lakes until the down river flooding recedes. That's my reading of the tea leaves, FWIW. Good news to all this, according to AGFC, is if the lake stays high for a while it will give the fry cover and should lead to better fishing down the road. trythisonemv 1
Guest Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 That's exactly right QB. Once the Mississippi backs up into the White, there's nowhere to send the excess water: high water is here to stay for a couple months
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 13, 2017 Root Admin Posted May 13, 2017 Talked to a Corps guy today. He said when the Mississippi can handle the water, they'll start drawing BS and TR down together, then Beaver. He said all the lakes will see high levels till at least mid July. Stump bumper Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 They can try to hold it back but two inches of rain and it is over the dam no matter how anyone feels about it. I hope there is plenty of room in Bull Shoals.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 13, 2017 Root Admin Posted May 13, 2017 No damage- thanks. I thought it was going to be real bad for a lot of us. trythisonemv, Lance34 and Mike jones 3
