IL Fisherman Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 I found fishing tough today. Caught 5 all spots. 2 on split shot fish doctor and 3 on a 2.8 Kietech. How was everyone else's day? Quillback, magicwormman and cheesemaster 3
96 CHAMP Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Yesterday after the OA tournament I went back out and did good, caught 3 nice keepers and quite a few others on a senko and shakey head. Today was definitely the opposite, got out about 9:30 caught a few kentucky's and that was it in the morning. Caught a nice flathead this evening with the shakey head,3-4#. Kind of expected this though after the front and north wind. Give it a day or 2 and things should improve. Good luck to you! Quillback, crazy4fishin and Donna G 3
big c Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Got out at 1 and fished untill 5:30 around indian point. We caught 4 on a big bite cane thumper swimbait white w/black flake. 3 on a pbj ned. 3 on a rock crawler..only 4 were keepers, 3 small mouth and 1 kentucky. All came in 12-14 foot with the boat in 25 foot. I had several more come unbuttoned on the swimbait until i figured out my hook set was pretty sissyfied. James-Kip said you would have been embarrassed until i got it finally got it squared away. James this James that.....adopt that kid!!! We had fun, most came on a seemingly nothing banks but we found some points when the water was lower that were pea gravel. They had about 6 foot of water on them now. There was a creek channel that ran by them that was about 16-25 feet deep. Most of the larger ones were staged in the creek at the back of pockets just off/adjacent to the gravel points. All these pockets were within eyesite of the main creek arms. Hope that makes some sence. We will be in a red and black TZX200 Skeeter, stop by if your out and about. Good luck to all!! Chris/Michelle and Christopher. Donna G, 96 CHAMP, Quillback and 1 other 4
Members swelbo1 Posted April 24, 2017 Members Posted April 24, 2017 This is our first day here for our trip this year. My partner and I had 52 total and 17 keepers. We're in long creek area. Had a full limit of smallmouth plus 2, 1 Kentucky, and 2 largemouth. Mostly pb&j ned, Carolina rig, a and shaky head. Not quite sure what to look for, as far as a pattern goes. 96 CHAMP, magicwormman and Quillback 3
