M_Taylor Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Fished near Still Waters Resort to the dam area this past weekend. Water temps were around 68-70 most of the time. I focused on points and secondary points based off the advise here on the forum, but also fished a couple pockets and just down some banks where we caught fish on that point. Had some fun on a topwater toad and buzztoad. Even ventured into the "jungle" as I called it and caught some skipping a toad around in the heavy vegetation. Biggest bites came on the outside edge of the tree line however. A big shaky head got the big bite of the weekend and second went to the buzztoad. The fish that bit the topwater were choking it down. I didn't get a ton of bites on it but never lost one that hit. About 10 or 11am switched solely to subsurface and kept catching fish on the worm as well as a Keitech. Only second trip to TR(even though I'm only 1.5hrs away) and again it was a pleasure, not always easy but ended up having a good day. Thanks for the input beforehand from the forum members. dtrs5kprs, big c, Seth and 13 others 16
