Flysmallie Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 My buddy @Harps has been on a mission to catch a musky on a fly rod. So he texts me the other day and asked if I wanted to go with him. I was down for going but the whole musky on a fly rod thing has turned out to be quite boring for me so I only took a couple of bait casters and determined that while he searched for the impossible musky I would search for the impossible big green bass. The S.S. Harper Started out with a spinnerbait in the brush. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Probably rode that pony way too long but I was hoping for a spinnerbait bite. Tried flipping up into the brush as well as dragging the old shore line. Nope. So I made a change to one of my all time favorites. It paid off pretty quick. The fishing definitely wasn't on fire but caught enough to keep it interesting. Had one toad of a bass come around the front of a bush and take my offering but I blew it. Figured that was my only shot at a big green one but a while later I was given another shot. This old gal measured 23 inches. Didn't get a weight on her but she was completely spawned out. No muskies were seen or harmed during this adventure. Royal Blue, Bass Yakker, ness and 6 others 9

Harps Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Of blown chances: I blew my one opportunity at the musky so far..... It'll be boring until I stab one in the face. Then it will be chaos most likely...... That was a hell of a good fish Smalliefly. (beers clinking emoticon) patfish 1
