Went out for a few hours after packing up the truck before we left town.  Headed to the same clear bank point and cove we fished earlier in the week that produced fish. Had a couple top water fish off the point in 6' of water that came off before we boated them. WP and WTD.  Headed back into the cove and my wife caught 5 or 6 short smallies with Ned. Then she hooked into a nice, probably 3lbish spot that broke off as I tried to lip it.  Dang net was under the seats. That thing was healthy fat and looked like a football. I did catch a small LM on a fluke that was busting shad on top.  Nothing remarkable other than that spot though.  Then all the big boats started anchoring up in the cove and we knew it was time to end our trip.

I love Table Rock.  You guys have it great down there.  I wish the water was down but we still figured out how to catch a few. We are going to try to make it back down this fall again.

Moguy, thanks for the information. The one that got away as you were lipping it is referred to professionally as a quick release. No shame in that.

Happy that you and your family had a good trip and caught a few fish. With all the rain and color that we have, topwater has not been very productive. Sometimes, mid October can provide some decent tw action. The weather is a bit more stable and the colors add to the beauty of our lake. We are truly blessed to live and fish on this awesome body of water.
