Got out with lil Dan and caught dinner off the coast of islamorada.  We had planned to fish for dinner the first 3hrs and then tarpon and shark the last 3 hrs.  Unfortunately my lil guy was sea sick by the time it was time for tarpon.  Oh well, next time I'll dedicate a half day for the tarpon here's a few picks.

Good luck out there in beaver guys. Stay safe.

Tarpon is a must!!!!

You'll be spoiled.   Dinner is good too but tarpon is a bucket list fish.

Nice snapper and hogfish. Congrats on you and you son getting your dinner. That's an awesome meal! Love the photos! Hopefully he can get his sea legs soon. Sea sickness sucks. If it's real bad you just want to die.

You guys should head south and hand feed the tarpon at 7 mile bridge.  It's a blast. If your resort is on the Atlantic side,  you can catch sharks from the bank at night.  You just need to use a steel leader and fresh cut bait and preferably 40 lb test or bigger.  I have caught many while staying at the Islander resort there in Islamorada. Biggest was a7 ft Lemon shark. I just used some kingfish from our offshore trip  earlier in the day. Or just use shrimp to catch some fish of a pier, cut them in half and throw them as far out as you can.  Bloodier, the better. Post pics of you catch one! Also the stone crab claws from the fish market there are the best!

I've already got a full day tarpon trip for Monday.  Hopefully I can snag a couple.   As far as being spoiled, my wife says I already am lol.

I remember being sick on my uncles yachts as boy and being sick as a dog.  I did want to die,   I was only 10 !   Luckily it didn't detour me from ocean fishing.

Navery, thanks.   I will do that for sure.  I have a month out here and planed to fish off piers, bridge and charters as much a possible.  Mostly bridges as charters can get expensive over time 😕    But yes I'll try the stone crab. I've heard they are amazing.

Hey Dan, sounds like some great weeks ahead. We will all live vicariously from your posts as no one here seems to be out fishing. Hoping to have power on our dock by next week then look out bass!
