Pepe Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 We finally made it back after a long hiatus. We can now get to our dock but there is still so much debris in and around the area that getting out will be a hazard. We are right at the mouth of the Kings, across from Lost Island. The water is murky; not attractive for swimming, especially with all the crud in the water. That doesn't make the grandkids happy. The camp across the way is pulling kids around even though there are some barely submerged large logs still about. Hope God is watching over them. what is really a shame is the lack of fresh air. It smells like a forest fire with all the smoldering driftwood piles. I may have to put the boat on the trailer and find a new launch point. How is it elsewhere on the lake? magicwormman 1
Members Dhunter1 Posted June 7, 2017 Members Posted June 7, 2017 Sunday I was around the Aunts Creek and Mill Creek area, the water was dark green to chocolate milk colored but no debre or floaters. Bass Yakker 1
96 CHAMP Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 All that rain and flooding sure caused a lot of troubles Pepe. Hope you all get it cleared out!
176champion Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 This picture was taken over by lost hill on the shell knob bank...about a month ago.. Dhunter1 and crazy4fishin 2 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
dtrs5kprs Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Pretty decent around 13. Color is hit and miss. Not much debris today, had quite a bit when yesterday when they backed it up. Bite is fairly solid. Lost several degrees of temp last night. They didn't seem thrilled with that. magicwormman 1
Pepe Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 We are planning to try our luck this weekend but may spend it cutting wood & moving floaters to the bank. I know folks like to treat all the ground up to the shoreline as their private property and keep it looking like their yard, but it seems it would be a good thing, overall to leave the grass grow and the driftwood in place for the critters - versus a month of smoking piles all around us. Quillback Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Campbell point, which is not to far from you, is decent water color and no floaters, at lest last week there were not any. No courtesy dock, so you have to launch off the parking lot.
dblades Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Being flooded is a plus when it comes to launching at Campbell Point in my opinion.. dtrs5kprs 1
Champ188 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Easy breezy launching at Shell Knob bridge and the courtesy dock is pulled up and usable. magicwormman 1
