Coosa Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 So after getting away for a 3 day 2 night trip last weekend I was lucky enough to have a surprise couple days off work this week and decided to head out again. I was quite surprised my other half was ok with this. Went 24 miles 2 days 1 night. Fishing was great and size was pretty good. Lost some good ones as always, just fish stories now. Biggest was 17 3/4". Just couldn't get him to stretch another quarter inch. Bass Yakker, DownStream, mzrealfish and 10 others 13
ollie Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 You are tougher than me! I would at least want a tent! lol Nice fish BTW Coosa 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Gavin Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Good for you! Solo floating is not for the timid. Great experience always. Fish all you want, think about things. Great mental cleanser. grizwilson and Coosa 2
Members DownStream Posted June 17, 2017 Members Posted June 17, 2017 Thanks for the report. Never done a solo overnight, need to make that happen. Looks like that tree makes a good tp holder. Coosa and top_dollar 2
RSBreth Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Yeah - I'm a "tenter" too - a Eureka Solitaire is a small price to pay for no mosquitoes. But anyway I miss those days of saying "screw it - I'm going (wherever)" for a couple of days.
grizwilson Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 I can picture myself waking with a cottonmouth or copperhead warming on my belly...... tent for me, the rest excellent DownStream and Coosa 2 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
Pat Magee Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Good on you for getting out. That Coosa HD is a fantastic boat, good to know it can swallow some gear for a couple nights on the river, I never felt like my non-HD Coosa could. Coosa 1

Has a big center hatch that's supposed to be used for rods but I can shove a small tent into it and back down under the rear tank along with a sleeping bag, camp mat, and pretty much everything I would need for an over nighter. I'm the one that usually carries a lot of our gear when we are out on the river. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

I feel like I can fit the same in my regular Coosa as my HD. But the HD storage in the back has a tiny opening. Most of my stuff goes in the front where as with the Coosa the gear is more spread out. It's taken me a few trips to really figure out what I really need and what i don't, but I got I down now. I think if I can go for 2 nights I can go for 4. Ice is the issue but I can always pack food that doesn't need to be cold and drink cooler temp water. I have even drank the cooler water through a lifestraw when I run out. Pat Magee and DownStream 2
