Nice video.

There's a few grass carp here in the community lakes stocked for weed control.  A few winters ago I accidentally snagged one while fishing a jerk bait, certainly did some pulling before the hooks came out.  A nice looking fish, nice shiny green coloration.

I will see one every once in a while when the water is cold, laying on their side, on their back floating on top the water, they look like they are dying, but I believe they are feeding on something.  I like to sneak up on them when they are doing that and poke them with a fishing rod - it freaks them out!

For people who really want to have fun fighting big fish, I don't know why more of them don't target both common carp and grass carp.  Big, heavy, powerful fish, and plentiful.  Personally I'm not interested in them for several reasons, most important of which is that the best places to fish for them are not the kind of places I most enjoy fishing--clear streams.  Second is that the ways you have to fish for them most of the time are just not the ways I most like to fish.  But at times I've had fun catching them.

I can understand that. If I lived closer to trout or redfish if be making those videos. But in South AR it's the best thing going fly fishing wise anyway.

Great video! I do appreciate you showing your fly. Gives me an idea on what I could use to catch those fish. Of course I would need a kayak, a good fishing hole, and the ability to make those casts without spooking the carp ☺!

Thank you. Yeah, the fly is pretty much the least important part of it.  I've taken out several guys, including a week ago trying to get content for this video and it didn't work out.
