Looks awesome.

If you want to do a similar but different trip in the future, check out Hilton Head. It is a very unique beach town, unlike any I have seen...much more natury. Has all the family stuff your wife and kids will like...beach, biking, Harbor Town, etc., lots of kayaking fishing opportunities, and lots of fresh and brackish water spots you can walk to or drive in just a couple minutes.

It's funny you mention that.  I use to work on Hilton Head and agree it's a cool place to kayak and fish.  My oldest daughter was born in Savannah.  We decided to move home and closer to family the year she was born.  We always have plans of hitting the low country but the drive keeps us closer to AR..

Small world. We went there growing up as my parents have a time share and then I went back a few years ago with the in-laws and fished all over the brackish waters when the tides were shifting. Caught several nice redfish. Pretty cool seeing them "waking" behind your lure...of course I was never sure if it was a redfish or one of the crap-ton alligators there. Next time we go, I am driving and bringing my kayak to get out in the surrounding waters.
