drew03cmc Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I recently sold some gear and decided to reinvest. I bought a Lew's TP1 5'9" MH casting rod and stuck a Gen 1 Revo Premier on it. This rod is not a typical MH rod. It behaves more like a M power stick, even rated for just 3/8-1/2 ounce baits. The Winn Grip handles have grown on me and I can't think of anything this rod wouldn't do. I'm planning to use It for everything from 1/8oz heads and craws up to 1/2 ounce buzzbaits. It is light, smooth and powerful with a soft tip. For the price, its a very nice stick. The MH almost scared me off, but I'm glad I bought one. I figured I'd pass the word off to other creek smallie fiends as it could answer their need for a new casting rod. Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2 Andy

moguy1973 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Looks like a nice short handle. I really like my TP1 spinning rod I bought. The Winn Grips have a nice feel to them although they sure do get dirty fast, faster than cork does. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

I wish they also had a lighter power rod with that handle as well. timinmo 1 Andy
top_dollar Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Thats my favorite rod as well. They are perfect for wading and canoeing small rivers and creeks, as well as bank fishing where you are in close quarters. I also prefer short rods for jerkbaits and WTD baits, it works incredibly well for both. They are also quite affordable as an added bonus. timinmo and drew03cmc 2

Mitch, given the differences in handle length, the blank beyond the grip is the same length on my St. Croix Premier 6' M as it is on the Lew's. Mitch f and timinmo 2 Andy
Gavin Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Have a Northfork Composites Shooter series that's 5'6" with 6" straight cork handle, for walking & jerk baits. I'll probably order another blank to wrap this winter. They are one of the few Manufacturers that offer short rod blanks. timinmo, Mitch f and drew03cmc 3
