I am all for restoring the white river no more lakes but what about the one that aren't in lakes like crane creek

Sounds like a wire leader is in order. Muskie & Pike require some caution when handling. Sharp gill plates and teeth. Jaw spreader and a big net is helpful.

A friend of mine says that you always bleed when catching musky☺. Maybe that's appropriate since you did stick one or more sharp hooks into its mouth! He uses 60 to 80 lb fluorocarbon leaders and I don't hear about him losing fish to cut leaders.

ICI would you be kind enough to share what type your favorite popper is? Sounds like it has treated you well. I have tried a few poppers but haven't had any bites, may be due to the location I'm throwing them, not sure.

Good point, Jacob.  And trout aren't the only other species to receive special attention.  There would be pretty much no walleye fishery in the State of MO if it wasn't for those darned biologists.

I can understand where he's coming from trout trout and most other species that have been introduced to the state do survive here better than Muskie so I can understand where he's coming from but who's to say if he's wrong or right I like fishing for trout and I'd like to try to fish for muskie but who says Fisheries in this area wouldn't be better if we just left things alone there's two sides to every story

I get what you're saying, but there have been countless studies done that show muskies have virtually no impact on a fishery.  Some might even argue the contrary...that lakes improve by the introduction of muskies.  I love fishing all fish species.  Some of the best walleye, smallmouth, and panfish lakes I have fished all throughout the country and into Canada all have something in common...muskies are in all of them!

I totally get where you are coming from, Jacob.  I fished Fellows before there were muskies and have fished Fellows since muskies were stocked...I don't notice a difference at all in the lake...just another fish to catch, photo, and release.  I have fished Pomme for decades as well, and that remains one of my favorite lakes for all species.  I appreciate the variety we are afforded.
