I Didn't Know What It Was....At First

For some reason I was not getting notifications on this when someone responded so it's taken me awhile to get back and check on this thread. Yaknar did you say what stretch of river this was?

Also any suggestions you all have on times of year and floats that are best for smallmouth on James would be great.

I like the summer months best and then on into fall.

For smallmouth I like that short section from Springfield Lake dam to Galena.

How long of a float is that? I attempted to put in there last year after it had flooded and float down by myself and then it started to look like I couldn't paddle back up so I turned around and went to Lake Springfield.

About 50 miles!! It's all good water. I've caught good fish all over that river.

Have plans to float from Springfield Lake all the way to Blunks this year with another member. 52.9 miles that we want to do over 4 separate trips. But I don't expect the fishing to be better in any one section.

BBQ is the same as money....just sayin:)

Agreed. And he does make some good BBQ. Next to controversy it's the best thing he produces.

FYI.....he already knows he's the other member that's going. We have worked out a solid plan. He brings BBQ and I eat it.
