I usually use 10 lb braid with a leader on most of my spinning outfits. do I need to go as low as 2 lb test for this type of trout fishing? Depending, I use four or six lb flouroclear for leader. Nanofil casts better than anything else I've ever used. 6 or 8 is plenty. Crazy Alberto for line to leader and then your favorite for leader to jig. 2 lb works great too. But for that I use a different softer rod and 2 lb maxima on the spool, no leader.

Stein Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Well, I recently found out that a one day meeting on the 6th turned into a two day meeting at Honeywell the 6th and 7th. Leaving for the 8+ hour drive down as soon as I'm done Thursday afternoon so I won't get in until 1:00 am or so. I was planning on taking Thursday off. I'll still be fishing Friday morning but by the time I get up and moving, get boat gas, unload some additional house things from the truck I will be running later in the morning Friday. See you all on the water. Terrierman 1
gotmuddy Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 No worries, plenty of fishing to be had! everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members Lake Lover Posted November 28, 2017 Members Posted November 28, 2017 Unfortunately work is getting into my fishing time also. Not looking good for us for this weekend, so just wanted to wish everyone good luck and have a great time! Looking forward to the day of retirement where fishing is priority over work!! If i make it that long!
Stein Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I did pick up a boat partner, though. He lives down there close to my house. He wants to fly fish some so I'll get a little experience with that. Looking forward to it.

Quill I tried to send this in a pm but it kept coming back as not accepting messages Quill It doesnt look good for me being able to get away this weekend with work commitments unfortunately. If you have saved a spot for us and it doesnt get filled by anyone, let me know what i owe so everyone can keep their bill at the 80.00. I dont want everyone else having to pay more because i couldn't make the timing work out. Heck, i havent even been down to the lake in over a month, It's killin me! Thanks Quill! Todd
Quillback Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 Don't worry about it, the $80 was an estimate based on what we had. Pretty much figured we might lose a person or two. Sorry you can't make it, maybe we'll see you next time! Lake Lover 1
