Goofy Town Turkey

Ran across this feller today on a street in town. He was just standing in middle of road and I pulled alongside. He pecked hubcaps. Ran alongside truck. Followed me down street a half block.  I shot some video if I can figure out how to post.

        Pretty funny,

Fall birds are pretty thin around here. Wet Spring was hard on the hatch. Had a friend who lived in Oklahoma. The wild turkeys in his area were not the Eastern we have here. Those birds were stupid and crazy. His wife had a small black sedan. Those birds would cone through his yard in groups, see their reflection in the car paint and attack the car. it was all scratched up. Mrs. BilletHead and I witnessed one such attack. He would open the door and run them off. Car was older and they did not care. Something about that car though. The birds never attacked his truck next tot he car. He would not even hunt those birds. Said they were too stupid. He learned different when he moved to Missouri and tried to hunt our eastern variety,

Had I been sitting still in full camo in the woods, he would have spooked 80 yards out.  It was funny, several people passed me.  He must have been a local oddity that other knew about.  I did not want him in the cab of my new company truck, but if I had a camper shell.....

Cool thing.  As you said, im sure hes a popular figure to the town folk.

I was hooking up my work trailer this morning and had a few 20 yards out.
