Asian carp way up the Big River

I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later but I pulled this picture off Facebook. Says they gigged it up by Bone Hole.  If that is where they got it that’s not good news.

Looks like a big head.....might have gotten mixed in with someone cat fishing shad bait....baby asians look a lot like shad....

I haven't seen any that far up Big River yet, but doesn't mean they won't get there.  They are in Joachim Creek all the way up to De Soto.

If it suites them, they will get there.

Nothing to stop them from going upstream.  Any river that connects to the Mississippi should be affected.  Only a dam could slow them down.

Had the pic sent to me last night.  Was skeptical at first as to the validity of it, but the person who posted it to facebook (initials L.E.??) is a former student/player of mine.  It was apparently gigged from another former student's boat.  The story was that the fish was in a school with about ten others.  Pretty crazy and disappointing.....
