Thanks Harris.   I think I know the park.   It has the big walking trail just off the highway?

The trail at 55 and Meramec Bottom is the Lower Meramec Park/trail, where I was and Harris was speaking to is at the other end of that trail up stream a bit called Holzer, it's a shorter walk to the river from there. To get to it from 55 go west on Meramec Bottom, you will pass Wells Rd on the right and the next left is Holzer Park road.

Ok, I will check that out.   I have sat at the bridge, under 55 and fished in the rising waters with no luck on lunch a few times.   I will venture to that side sometime.

Daryk and KLiK, I am intrigued by your finding of whites.  I go to Flamm City about every weekend.  Never fish, just taking Daisy dog for a ride.  Y'all ever fish that far down?

Yeah. The side of the park by Suson, the trail is a lot shorter to get to the river than that side though.

Have not fished down that way, been meaning to check it out, but for whatever reason I have not made it down that way yet with a pole.

I haven't fished at Flamm City.    The water has been super low.  I haven't caught any whites in The Meramec.   I haven't been able to catch anything there.  Just usually walk around the area  during lunch break. I work in Arnold at Advance.

The Meremec between Arnold and Fenton can be a fantastic fishery!  I had days in the spring where I would catch 20-30 whites right off the Flamm Ramp.  The mouth at the Mississippi can be great as well.

Also had a day where we caught over 40 LMB up to 5lbs between I-55 and Flamm when the river was very low.  Get up around Winter Park and there is some pretty good Crappie fishing as well in the back waters.

As of recent when the river is low is when I seem to have the best of luck, equated it to that I was able to get out towards the deeper channel and fishing deep with jigs or stick baits.

Been years since I've fished the back waters of George Winter.  Many moons ago I caught my biggest catfish being goofy with a bubble gum baited hook, lol, not sure what it weighed, was around 3 feet in length and I had to drag it to shore just to get it out of the water and remove my hook.

Found Holzer this afternoon.  Happened to meet Harris122 while there.  I really hope you are able to catch whatever was playing with your line.

Guess they finally named that spot Holzer. Drum & carp, occasional hybrid down there. Used to live off of Wells Rd, fished it 20-30 times. Have not been back in 20 yrs.
