Al Agnew and myself went fishing today.  Short and sweet, it was too windy !  We had to bank the boat to really fish effectively,( if you can call it that ).  We basically threw hidef craws   Big and little.   It was very difficult to feel any bites.  We both lost several big fish today.   I did boat a 19" though 😎

Yep, I was afraid I was going to get skunked.  First fish I hooked took me directly into a root wad and broke off.  Second bite, the line broke on the hook set.  I missed a couple more bites.  And when we stopped to re-fish the first pool we tried, which was going to be our last try before giving it up, I still hadn't caught a fish and the wind was really cranking through that pool.  I haven't been skunked in so many years I can't remember the last time it happened, but it looked very possible today with those conditions.  But I finally broke the skunk with a 13 inch smallmouth and then a 15 inch or so largemouth.  Whew!

The water was so clear that when Hog Wally hooked the 19 incher we could see it very clearly in 10 feet of water, but it was so far down that it looked pretty small, like an optical illusion.  Even when he got it in, our minds kept telling us it wasn't that big.  He guessed it at 17 inches.  I guessed it at 17.5.  Then he put it on the measuring board and it was 19 and a fraction.  I haven't been that wrong about guessing a fish's length in a long time.

Nice day of fishing with Hog Wally, even if the conditions sucked.

So I know what yer saying...similar to what we had on Saturday...but our front had already blown thru.

A few good bites...Aaron and I were talking and both agreed you really had to keep your concentration levels up...long periods of nothing and then on any of your next casts it will probably be a tremendous fish.

It was tough conditions today IMO...I know it's tough to control the boat for sure.
