You can catch those things by the bucket load in many Massachusetts ponds and lakes, but it is very tough to find them over 12". This is a pretty typical size. In graduate school as part of our lake research we were able to fish a private lake that does not allow fishing. We were catching perch up to 17" in length (I have actual photos, but not digital photos ). They fought like smallmouth bass. It was awesome, but I got to weigh, measure, and pump the gut contents of each fish that we caught as part of our research. My betterhalf got a lot more enjoyment catching these fish than I did since as soon as I was done processing one fish she had another for me . moguy1973
We used to catch a bunch of yellow perch in Michigan every summer when we went up there. Great eating fish. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Ok first thing is there is a way Mr. Scientist to scan your photo and show us a trophy yellow perch. Second thing is now I have it figured why Mrs. Folly is younger and prettier than you are. May your water stay in the liquid form, mine may not :). Aggravator! Have you caught your Missouri yellow perch yet? You know it does not count unless you catch it in it's native waters and bet you have that done already. BilletHead Actually hope the small water hardens up down here and forces them to big water but I don't think it will.

No - she was not one of my students. We went to different colleges except for the one semester that I took classes at her school and stayed in her dorm at an all girl college. That's a separate story. Follysbetterhalf, Quillback, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other
