vernon Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 It's probably simply a byproduct of never having been married until I was 48 but we've always had three bank accounts - hers, mine and ours. Hers and mine are just that and "ours" is what we pay equally into to cover house payments, utilities and all other common household expenses. She makes her own car payment and I pay for the Tahoe, Ranger and annual golf dues. Now, I would LOVE to report that this arrangement enables me to buy whatever I want, whenever I want without question or criticism since, after all, it is MY money - right? Unfortunately, that is NOT exactly the case and I just as well be on a weekly allowance like most kept men. For example, last weekend I had the audacity to splurge on a new chain for my chainsaw. The ensuing interrogation, investigation and kangaroo trial clearly illustrated that it would have been wiser and much more pleasant had I chosen to just chew the firewood rather than utilizing that blasted chainsaw. The good news is that since I retired she makes about three times as much as I do so I'm hoping there's going to be an upside to that aspect of our financial future at some point that will make this all a bit more palatable but that ain't no lead pipe cinch neither! And CF4, as for you, you're lucky to be alive............... Quillback, big c, crazy4fishin and 2 others 1 4 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
