I just received my “CABELA’s” Spring catalog—

The  first 11 pages are ads for “Bass Tracker” boats ; Johnny Morris “Wonder of Wildlife” national museum and aquarium -and “Big Cedar Lodge”..

I had to check the cover twice to make sure it was not the spring Bass Pro catalog !!!!!!!!

It makes you wonder if they will rebrand all the stores as Bass Pro Shops that have Bass Pro brand fishing stuff, Cabela's brand hunting stuff, and Red Head brand clothing.

Here in St Louis, if BP really wanted to ratchet things up a notch or 11 they would close the BP in St Charles, MO and take over the wasteland that is St Louis Mills Mall(where Cabela's is the only thing that has survived Hazelhood) and make that puppy into the ultimate indoor outdoor playground.  That might be a bad business move though.  Even my company (I can see Cabela's from the dock) is moving out of Hazelwood to Earth City.

BPS should have bought up the land where the Chrysler plant used to be in Fenton and built a big Outdoor World there.

I thought I had read about a year ago that Cabela's wasn't renewing their lease at the Mills but that was before Johnny had a hand in things.

I would be OK with them redoing the Cabelas in Rogers to make it BPS.  Get 'er done and quit messing around.

I feel just the opposite. I wish we were further away from BP HQ, so they would not mess with the Rogers store so much. I like BPS okay, but have always been more of a Cabela's shopper.

I don't care which direction they go, I just wish they'd get some decent stuff in there so I can clean out all the good pegs before QB gets there. He seems to be getting old and slow. Not much of a challenge to beat him to Hook Line & Sinker anymore.

I hear you on that, but I just don't see BPS letting them be Cabelas like Cabelas used to be.  I would also like to see Cabelas remain Cabelas, and not some kind of hybrid where you don't know what they'll be doing long term as far as products.  I don't think that is going to happen.  That's why I'd like to see them just go full BPS and end the speculation.
