Members DBrannon1960 Posted March 18, 2018 Members Posted March 18, 2018 I'm a newbie, does anyone use the no-knot fas-snaps for changing flies quickly, rather than tying new knots each time ? Fish24/7 1
fishinwrench Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Nope. I use a no-slip loop knot on everything #14 and larger. A figure-8 knot for the tiny stuff.
Fish24/7 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 yes, like em a lot, gives more action to the fly too imo which gives me more confidence
tjm Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Tried them and did not like. I use a double surgeon's knot for most, but many knots will work. I keep telling myself that I will learn the "Davy knot" but haven't yet. I really don't change flies all that often.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 If I'm in area with fish I give it 10-12 drifts and if it doesn't get bit it's getting changed. Loop knots and Davy knots.
