I have a 25 foot retractable dog deal with the old blue David Fritts plug knocker on it. Lew's reintroduced the exact same design a couple years ago and is now yellow. It works GREAT and I would highly recommend it. The "system" is actually super easy to deploy and manipulate to get your lure back. Rod with a taught line in one hand and then retriever/leash handle in the other bouncing it up and down. Get back about 95% of snagged lures and this also includes A-Rigs.

All these lure retrievers are worth their weight in gold!  My fishing partner and I have saved thousands of dollars since lure prices got so high.  I used to think these were a gimmick, now I'm a believer and a promoter of them all.  Have mine rigged to an old reel and it seldom lets me down.  Save 10 megabass = $200!!!!!!

Great report, Bill!  I'm even more excited about our trip the last week of April.  Our group of Louisiana anglers is even larger this year, and we're hoping for good weather and stable water levels.  We've been coming for a week in April for over 35 years, and the fishing has steadily improved, for us.  We caught mostly largemouth and spots, for several years, and were always impressed that the spots looked like footballs.  Really healthy!  The last few years, it seems that we catch mostly smallmouth, which is a real treat for us, since there are no true smallmouth in Louisiana.

Thanks to all of you who contribute to this forum.  It's by far the best that I follow, and I enjoy it throughout the year.  Wish I could come more often.  Table Rock is special!
