Members JLEWS01 Posted April 13, 2018 Members Posted April 13, 2018 I was around the Aunts Creek area today and did terrible.... I threw everything in the book at them minus soft plastics (it was too windy for me to feel confident finessing anything) warts, square bill, rock crawls, spinners, under spins, and more. I had high hopes with warmer weather but I was humbled big time. I didnt get out on the main part of the lake because of wind. Anyone have any luck?????
bluebasser86 Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I was a few hours north of you but our weekly small tournament was tough last night too. We won it and got big bass with 4 fish that went a whopping 8.55 pounds and big bass of 3.16. Fish were short striking and not cooperative at all.
Dutch Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I struggled in the Big M area. Only had 6 shorts on the little guy.
dblades Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Visited Baxter from about 11-4 managed a small limit of spots and largemouth on bottom baits. Most of my fish seemed to come off flatter ledge rock.
Members C Beach Posted April 13, 2018 Members Posted April 13, 2018 Fished Kim City towards dam a bit. 55-57 deg water, dingy cleaner towards dam. 3.8 fat impact sexy shad worked on 1/4oz. 7 fish, 2 shorts in 5hrs mid day. Best 5 right at 16.5. Topped with a 5.14 and 4.10. Our best day on TR for sure. Back out now for a few hours before getting out of here. Good luck. Thx to all here, great forum. big c and magicwormman 2
Flippin Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I fished out of Baxter all day yesterday and caught around 25. And it was a grind. Just could not find a pattern yesterday. Had about 1' water visibility up around Big creek and back in Indian. About 3' visibility out on main lake around Baxter toward the mouth of the James.
curtisce Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Fished out of Aunts Creek then headed up James. Caught 3 fish largest a 21/4 smallie. Then ran down main lake to try clearer water. It as clearer but not clear 2-3 ft viz. Found a couple in 10 fow with timber. Think we could haave caught some more but the wind was coming right at us so holding the boat steady was a job in itself. Should have bought the Ultrex . The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check
Members JLEWS01 Posted April 13, 2018 Author Members Posted April 13, 2018 The Ultrex is would be a game changer. Surely, the spawn will happen next week. It's been an odd spring for me. Several killer days and several extremely slow days. But hey, that's part of the fun!
vernon Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 That Ultrex is the greatest fishing/boating invention since the outboard motor! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
edyer Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Until your steering cable breaks. I just got my Ultrex back today.
