arsenal1477 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Hey all, I realize this is a non-Table Rock Topic, but I am heading down to Dallas for work Apr 29-May24. Seeing as I’m driving I’ll be bringing some fishing gear. I’ll be about 3 miles SE of Lake Grapevine and 65 miles due west of Lake Fork. With as much as we are all on water I was not sure if any of you have experience down there, but pointers/tips on where to fish that are somewhat close would be greatly appreciated. Hope you are all well after the storms this weekend. Sore Thumbs 1
Hunter53 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 If I were in your shoes; I would hire a guide and fish Lake Fork. arsenal1477 and Champ188 2
Ketchup Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Yep, hire a guide for a day on Fork. Spawn is past there, but always a good chance of getting a quality bite. arsenal1477 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Sprint21fter Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 If not getting a guide fish mustang and little mustang bays. Not sure the HWY but you can fish from the bank where the hwy crosses. arsenal1477 1
arsenal1477 Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 Sounds good fellas. Yeah, I’m leaning toward a guide one of the days on Fork and then walking the banks of Grapevine. There are a ton of lakes in the area that look solid also. If I catch anything worth mentioning I’ll be sure to get them on here. Thanks for the advice.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 If you can find grass on Lake Fork anymore I’d make sure and have a rattle trap type bait and rip it through the grass. Hard to beat red color. I’m sure a big ole worm Texas rigged would work too. Not sure on colors they prefer down there.
Guest Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 was just at lake fork doing a seminar this past weekend. the spawn is still not over due to the weather. good chance it will be finished when you are there. if you could swing it, getting a day out with a guide would be the best way to go. i would give lake fork trophy lures (800-408-2028) a call. they will be able to give you some names and numbers of the best guides on the lake. ask for ronnie parker or kevin sharp and tell them i said you should call. bo
Champ188 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 David Vance is one of the original and best guides on Lake Fork. big c and merc1997 Bo 2
arsenal1477 Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 Thank you sirs, I’ll be sure to reach out to them. I’ve dreamt about fishing that pond for some time now so hopefully they can put me on some. I’ll be sure to mention you fellas. Thanks again.
Ketchup Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Give Jason Hoffman a call. I have 2 buddies that used him and that will be a repeat thing as they were more satisfied than any other guide they've used anywhere in the country. Look on his FB page for his contact info. Hes a younger guy verses the old folgies. Hes the real deal. Good luck on your venture. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
