Members Walleye guy Posted May 2, 2018 Members Posted May 2, 2018 Figured I had found so much good information on this site since I discovered it a month ago that I better post a report. Sunday was our first time out this year and we are new to Stockton Lake. We went out of Mutton Creek south about 6.5 miles and found some walleye. 4 in about an hour. 17” - 20”. Fished a flat on a point at about 13 feet. BB and crawler harness. Chartreuse was the best color. Tried 4 spots I had picked out on the map on our way from Mutton Creek to where we found them. No luck on any of those spots. Looking forward to giving it another try this weekend. Thanks to all that posted reports. Especially the walleye reports. dan hufferd, Phil Lilley, MickinMO and 5 others 5 3
MickinMO Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Point 9 1/2 has some humps from old roads and pond dams that can be good to troll over
MoCarp Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 this time of year the walleyes will be coming of the post spawn blues, and be hungry and on cloudy days chase bait in water a foot deep on windy points, keep the wind at your back toss it almost on the bank and rip it back, 3 jerks and a pause, and try change ups everyday the trigger is different, two jerks and a pause jerk pause jerk, pay attn and you will find out what they like...as far as baits rogues, husky jerks, I liked black and gold, clown face, silver n black...they will slam it and fight like champ...my fav way to catch walleyes, you will pick up some bonus bass as well, buddy of mine caught a 5# smallie this way, I used 8# green mono, but I know people who use braid with a fluro leader and did well dan hufferd and mikeak 2 MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Members Walleye guy Posted May 2, 2018 Author Members Posted May 2, 2018 Great tip. I’ll give that a try next time. I did something similar up on Smithville Lake this time of year. I used a 1/4 oz. jig with 1/2 of a gulp worm threaded through the hook.
mikeak Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Is there a map that shows the point numbers,I haven't found one Thanks
