Members bassinjackson Posted May 7, 2018 Members Posted May 7, 2018 All jokes aside can you really not take a pistol with you to a Corp body of water? If not I’ve been illegal many many times without ever knowing.
JCreek Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I found the passage from the law http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/COERulesPamphlet.pdf You cannot have a firearm -OR- ammunition according to that. I had never seen the ammo part before. Sheesh. You can have a gun while legally hunting during the proper season with the proper permit, etc. It's really a can of worms and I'm not an attorney.

JCreek Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I have to quit reading about this stuff....Now it seems my usual pocket folder is illegal! Blade can only be 2.5 inches and this thing is 2.75!!! Sucker saved my life last trip out when I got wrapped up in heavy braid stuck to a tree in the wind. Whipped that out and with one hand opened it and cut the line. I'll have to go through the collection and find a shorter one. Maybe it's an excuse to buy a new knife! If life gives you Wheaties, make dough balls! Lifes2Short 1
terryj1024 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I never knew that it was illegal to carry a gun on Corp land I've hunted several places and just assume that you could carry because of the Second Amendment I feel like it is a violation of our 2nd Amendment rights and I've shot many a snake with a 22 with snake shot in it while camping or fishing not knowing that that was illegal I had a water moccasin climb on my boat once and that was enough so if they get too close I just shoot the moccasin snagged in outlet 3 and mikeak 2
Members VJMAC Posted May 7, 2018 Members Posted May 7, 2018 Had my trailer tires knifed at high point couple years ago. Still pissed off about that ! Dont think i'd chase anyone down but i do have a .50 cal desert eagle that i carry that might run someone down !! terryj1024 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I did not know of this law either. As I've gotten older I carry a firearm more and more. Especially when my wife and daughter are with me. Had a couple freaks in a rubber raft on the CO River yelling obscenities at my daughter while we were floating. I felt completely outmatched and really just scared. It was a long quiet float to the takeout.
MickinMO Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 In general it is highly illegal to carry firearms or consume alcoholic beverages on federal property
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 So people drinking on Tablerock is illegal??
fshndoug Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 tell me you really don't shoot snakes you happen to cross paths with
