I don't ever Rember deep hooking a carp, even when we trot lined for them. I can't say that having muskie has ever had the slightest negative effect on crappie populations, seems to be more about the spawn success. Muskie on the other hand have a negative effect upon my supply of Shad Raps. They have some sort of vendetta against me I think. Truthfully I don't lose a lot of lures to them but every $10 shad rap they takes annoys the stink out of me. One day I will get a legal sized one into the boat and then the shoe will be on the other foot when I eat him. Or at least try.

That sounds more like the definition of the word "troll". But to each his own; some say potato and others say potato lol MoCarp 1
MoCarp Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 though this proposal failed, the Bfing of muskies is blamed on mistaken fish ID, and the Fish & Wildlife in that state is developing signage to combat 'mistakes" if and when the shot Muskies keep showing up you can count on stricter measures. its an issue...earlier this year a double digit LMB was shot in Oklahoma, I am trying to locate the pic...the issue is a handful of people can greatly impact a fishery limiting this style of harvest in some waters is a viable fisheries management tool. Quote The one proposal not approved would have prohibited the use of archery equipment for taking nongame fishes on a section of Lake James (F15). The proposal was designed to protect muskellunge during the spawning season, said Doug Besler, mountain region fisheries supervisor. “There is a growing interest on Lake James in bowfishing, the shooting of non-game fish,” Besler said. “At the upper end of Lake James there is a large population of muskie (a game fish). Bow anglers target carp and other nongame fish, but there have been muskie that were mistaken.” Besler said instead of making a rule change, the commission is taking an intermediate step by working with the muskie club and the bowfishing club to develop signage at the lake. https://www.citizen-times.com/story/news/local/2017/02/22/wildlife-commission-approves-hunting-fishing-rules/98196272/ MONKEYS? what monkeys?
