stlfisher Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Bucket biology is never ok, but does anything actually thrive naturally in that lake? The article states that Chinook Salmon, Char, and Trout are the only species STOCKED by the Alaskan fish and wildlife in that lake. Seem like they don't want Bass messing up the fish they CHOSE to plant, which is understandable, but diminishes my angst a bit.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 How did they get a bass that far north alive???
MOPanfisher Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Carp fishermen transported them with a bucket of carp fingerlings.😁 Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2
Members watermen2 Posted September 9, 2018 Members Posted September 9, 2018 They explained it with the Pike. Pike have become a real problem in some areas and have taken over whole watersheds. I could take you to a lake where I fish that has stunted pike from 12-18 inches long every cast. There are a few good ones, they live on fresh water shrimp till they get so big, then..... on each other! They must have ideal spawning habitat in some of these lakes. IDK
MoCarp Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 meanwhile in Alaska...I like the way they made the bass look like a nasty freak! MONKEYS? what monkeys?
