Quillback Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Saw this reviewed in the latest Arkansas Wildlife issue. Don't have it myself, but may order a copy. Thought some of you might be interested. https://www.amazon.com/Pheasant-Quail-Cottontail-Upland-Birds/dp/0996944818 tho1mas 1
BilletHead Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Quill, That is a great book! I have four of Hank Shaw's books including this one. JohnsFolly gifted me the book and he got it singed by Hank. Many dishes have been made here in BilletHeadVille out of these books. Shaw has a great website too with recipes. Check it out buddy, Marty Ham, tho1mas and Johnsfolly 3 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Members Kayak_Runner Posted September 13, 2018 Members Posted September 13, 2018 I love Hank Shaw's recipes, his books are well worth the price. He's got a great feature episode on MeatEater where he cooked Jack Rabbit, Sardinian Hare Stew. The recipe works really well with cottontails too. http://www.themeateater.com/2013/a-hank-shaw-recipe-sardinian-hare-stew/ BilletHead 1
Quillback Posted September 13, 2018 Author Posted September 13, 2018 If BH approves, then it must be a good book, I'll pick one up. BilletHead 1

Yep BilletHead approved! 👍👍 BilletHead p.s. I am sitting next to a cut cornfield with four collard and two morning doves. Wondering how many I might have if I didn't have this stupid phone in my hand?😣 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Johnsfolly Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 I've met Hank twice now. Enjoyed talking with him. He would fit in well here on the forum. Anyone that hunts or forages has to check out his website that BH provided earlier and cookbooks. He takes a global view on his dishes that stretches my thoughts on how to prepare game meals.
