I didn't mean to mislead. A bass fishermen cruised by he said that it was slow, l said man you should throw a spoon, he said no way, so I thought, I might try my own advice it worked. I went back to crappie. Dan, when you say drop shot minnows, were the crappie hanging towards the bottom. I have never used that for Crappie. Thanks Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... I use an Aberdeen hook, I like the long shank, then a slow lift back out. liphunter, Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 1

Steve McBasser Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 He doesn't know what he is missing for sure. I've had some cold weather trips where a spoon was the only thing I fished all day and absolutely loaded the boat. For some reason many bass fisherman are too proud to throw it. My goal when I go fishing is to put fish in the boat.......spoons are famous for doing just that. I ain't too proud.....I'd throw a vienna sausage if I thought it would catch fish......just sayin'. dan hufferd, Johnsfolly and liphunter 3

Heard a lot about folks using hot dogs for catfish. Sure that those vienna's would work on cats 😁. An old girlfriend of mine caught plenty of bass in Florida on hot dogs as well. So you may want to keep a tin or two in your tackle box😁. liphunter, dan hufferd and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
liphunter Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 A little off subject. But I go diving on occasion in a quarry in Mermett Springs ILL. They have these massive albino catfish that will suck one hotdog after another right out of your hand. Kind of fun. Johnsfolly 1 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity......
