Members lewis.stull Posted November 25, 2018 Members Posted November 25, 2018 I know this has nothing to do with fishing but was wondering what public land in the area allows bow hunting? Looking to get out and enjoy the sport here in the area. Driving to my land in Arkansas gets to be pretty time consuming.
Devan S. Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 There tons of acres between Cassville and Eagle Rock off 86 highway. Mark Twain...I drive through several times a week and outside of rifle season and a nice weekend day(four wheelers) I don't think you will run into too many others. I don't know if its legal but just outside of roaring river off F highway coming toward Eagle Rock there were vehicles in the pull offs the last 2 weeks so I would assume they were rifle hunting for deer. Never see anyone but anglers and people during rifle season so bow would probably be easy.
Members lewis.stull Posted November 26, 2018 Author Members Posted November 26, 2018 Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. Also thought about busik. Figured it would be ok late season. But who knows.
Royal Blue Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I have a good friend that has bow killed a ton of deer at Busiek. You have to get away from the easily accessed parts, but before he bought a place he bow hunted there constantly.

Looking on the map....I can't remember where we used to get out of the woods, somewhere south of highlandville, I am sure everything has changed in 30yrs I am still curious. Royal Blue 1
Members lewis.stull Posted November 27, 2018 Author Members Posted November 27, 2018 I figured I'd have to get way back away from everyone. But that's no big deal for me. Never been there. Gonna go walk around and check it out this weekend.
tjm Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Look up Mark Twain National Forest, there's gobs of it around the area. Most of the COE lands are open to hunting.https://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Table-Rock-Lake/Shoreline-Management/
