New reels

Agreed Al, I have a kastking speed freak and at first it made a bad whining noise. I watched a video on YouTube about several others who had the same thing happen to their reel and how to take it apart and take out an excessive chunk of grease they put in the reel. I followed the videos and performed my halfedass autopsy procedure and the reel is very smooth and quite now hahahaha it cracks me up because I would have normally just tossed it for what I paid for that reel but it seems pretty nice.

I bid on a couple reels on ebay...one of them is a lews orange crush and a Shimano SLX, so we shall see....I usually don't win on bidding on ebay...lol

Well I lost the Lew's orange crush reel, won't know on the other reel for another day or so....lol

Another vote for the regular Tatula, I'm wanting a SV but can't justify the cost yet. I keep using the old Abu XLTs  and kinda hooked. I buy em for about 20 bucks, then clean and lube and there good to go. Mostly 1985 models and I'll bet no KastKings last 35 years.

The orange crush reel is great, the rod that comes with is a POS, im on my 3rd one. They just keep on chewing up my line. Ive taken them in every time to Sportsmans and they find a bad eye and replace it everytime
