Figured with all the rain we got the river would be out of its banks but it is up but still good shape. Still didn't move a tree but that's ok.

How many did you catch? I can't get my Bait to stay in one place long enough to catch anything.

Like I say though surprised the river isn't up higher with the rain we got.

Found some slower moving water and that was the trick, tried other spots but water was moving too quickly. Wasn’t a numbers day but caught and released some good ones and a personal best

I use 3 Rods and have to find real slow water. Plus place to put my Rod Holders in, have one place I like but there is a Tree there until the river comes up and washes it on down. I could get No Roll Sinkers but their hard to come by around here.

I don't mind going by the Park but have to beat the Rod Holders in.

Surprises the hell out of me that the river is staying in it’s banks. You would think it would be flooded out with how wet it has been this winter. And it dropped a good amount last night from looking at the graphs. Anyone know why the Niangua doesn’t seem to really ever flood?

I know it takes two days for the water to get from I-44 down here but we had hard rains and the ground has been saturated. Have seen the river way out before but this year I'm confused, actually it is staying pretty steady.

Actually right now it is good for Floating and Fly Fishing.

Oh it floods.  But you're correct that it falls out quickly, and often to a level lower than it was before it flooded.

My main complaint about the Niangua is that it spends the majority of it's life being too low.   Not sure where all the water goes after a wet spell, or how it gets there so fast.    The Gasconade would do likewise if it was the same in length.
