Members tracman86 Posted February 27, 2019 Members Posted February 27, 2019 Stockton is not giving very much up right now. I dropped some brush today. Then fished and did not get a bite.
Dutch Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 What kind of water temps are you guys seeing down there?
MrGiggles Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I didn't do much better. Was running short on time, decided to go to Crabtree. Got there around 4. Did not see a crappie on the graph until about 5:45. Then it was on, 3 casts, 3 fish, they were gone again after about 10 minutes. Still, was nice to catch a fish, been almost a month. Main lake brush, 30 ft deep in 42 fow. 38*. Lots of boats out today. liphunter 1 -Austin

Not very far. Mostly fished main and secondary points. The warmest I seen on both of my electronics was 38.5. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Dutch Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Thanks. I was at Cape Fair and the water was 48°. A 10° difference is quite a bit. Maybe I'll keep going to Cape until we have some warmer weather. Mhyde 1
liphunter Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Kind of wish I would have done that. I knew it might be a little colder at Stockton, but I was little surprised by that. I had a guy who was crappie fishing pull up and start talking to me. That's what you do when you can't catch fish. You find someone that looks more sad and pathetic than yourself and start talking to them. Anyway, he said 38 was all was seeing as well... Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Flysmallie Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Don't let the fishing get you down when the water is that cold. Better days are on the way. liphunter 1
Lifes2Short Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Finished a total of 14 hours between Monday and Tuesday, couldn’t buy a crappie and ended up with three bass. It’s as tough as I’ve ever seen it up there. Two bass on the jerk bait and one bass on the a-rig. I also saw 38 to 40° water between Mutton and Roark. Tight Lines....... didn’t happen. 😪 liphunter and straw hat 1 1
