liphunter Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Looking at the extended forecast, tells me I can start selectively using my outdoor wood stove, instead of 24/7. That is always my first sign that springtime is out there, getting all perfumed and pretty for our date!!! snagged in outlet 3, Quillback, Bass Yakker and 1 other 2 2 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

That is always my first sign that springtime is out there, getting all perfumed and pretty for our date!!! I actually turned off the pellet stove yesterday. This big warm up it got to 78 in the room where the pellet stove resides. We pre buy propane every year so it will be used full time now I suppose if we are finally transitioning to this thing called Spring you speak of . Seth Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Yep. Looks like I won't be burning any wood for a while with the forecast. We have a forced air outdoor wood furnace that comes in through the side of the house. It's great when it gets below freezing as it keeps the house around 71-73 degreees, which is perfect. If it gets above freezing though, it gets way too warm for our tastes. The propane keeps the house at 65. liphunter 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 I have 4"s of snow in my front yard. liphunter 1
liphunter Posted March 8, 2019 Author Posted March 8, 2019 Mine uses hot water to heat the house and water. So I need to keep it going until I'm sure there is not going to be a sustained hard freeze. It's ok for a few hours in the upper 20's with not burning. But I don't want to push my luck too much. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
