Flat Creek is superb - only been to the original.  Dana's is solid too.  Solid but not rave worthy IMHO.

Certainly hits the spot after a long day on the water.  Never been to Flat Creek. I won't waste another dime at the BC restaurants.

Quick report.  Folks said if they could eat 3 meals a day at Flat Creek and come back for in between meal snacks there, they would.  Thinking of moving from Dallas just so they could be close to it.

Really there are few adjectives that are truly good enough to say about that place.  I think the best would be to say they are consistently delicious.

Listen here now.  Fried fish, Fried chicken and chicken parts, and French Fried potatoes only get so good.  Boiled shrimp is that same way, done the right way.  Good sides/salads.  The place is really good and totally consistently predictable too.  Well recommended…………………………  But.  If you  are looking for "fine dining".   Forget it.  But for a good time and a good meal?  Hard to beat.

Your right it was just crazy good.  I think it was the pizza oven and the smoked chicken oven that burned the place down.  I always ordered the same thing that Marsha Lilley ordered when we went.  That girl just knows whats good.  On another note we used to get nothing but raves about the Worman House, it was expensive but the food was always top notch.

Another was the Candle Stick Inn,  never a complaint.  People would plan their vacation just to go there.  Becky and I used to do our anniversary there every year.  Fried Lobster or their grilled smoked Lamb Chops were simply crazy.  Best restaurant bar drinks anywhere, mixed to perfection.

We loved the Candle Stick.  Had several Christmas parties there when they were on top of the world, not just the top of Taneycomo.  Still dream of the scallops from there.

The folks that ran it have a place in Eureka Springs now - Le Stick Nouveau. Nancy and I have eaten there and at The Grotto, also here. Both superior to any meal we ever had at Big Cedar. If your people don't mind an hour drive to a quaint and odd town, they might try here.

It’s too bad the restaurants at BC are so bad or at best ok.

Because the atmosphere and ambiance are great there.  I miss the old top of the rock restaurant.

Yeah me too.  Even Devil's Pool was good back when Heck was a pup.  Hemingway's just ain't the same either..

Randy, Phil, Marsha, Becky and myself went over for a night last fall and were looking forward to eating at the Grotto.  They closed for the day for employee appreciation and we missed it but we will try and get back.

We drive over on Thursdays some times for the lunch buffet at M. Mays.it is most always really good.  Their twice baked potato casserole is just fantastic.

You probably realize how picky Nancy and I are about food, service, and atmosphere. Snob would be a good adjective. Le Stick Nouveau scored above The Grotto on our scale. Neither was cheap.

Back in the day, what was the name of the other place in Branson, in town, something Greek sounding? I remember a dinner when Emily was about 7 and Abby was about 4 where Emily ate raw oysters and we had a flaming something for dessert. It, as well as the Candlestick, had good reviews from Bon Appetit.
