Dutch Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Been dealing with a shoulder injury for several days. I can lift my right arm up today and move it around so I think I am ready to make some casts. I am launching out of State Park due to the 20 to 30 mph winds in the forecast. Looking for some staging bass close to spawning banks. I'll even take some brown or spotted fish it they want to bite. I hope there are some with my name on them. I'll be in my red and gray Nitro if anyone else is in that area. wtr dogs 1
liphunter Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Good luck Dutch. Let us know how you did. Hoping to make it myself sometime this week. Mike Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
MrGiggles Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I went looking for crappie last night. Saw that the Tandem Fly guys were catching them on brush in 20ft of water, so I checked every brushpile I knew of that was close to that depth around Cedar Ridge. Did not see any fish on the graph, and did not catch anything. The water has cooled off quite a bit, 51-54 degrees. The wind was a booger for sure, I can take a beating, but draw the line at getting soaked in 50* water. Phil Lilley, wtr dogs, liphunter and 1 other 3 1 -Austin
Lifes2Short Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Went out today from 630 until 130 and found it to be a really rough day, literally! Strong winds all day up around the twin bridges area but ended up with five bass and could only find one crappie. I think all five of my bass came on something different; jig, jerk bait, crank bait, shaky head and something else. After being off the lake for a week it was amazing to find only 52 and 53° water all day, almost 10° cooler than last week. Headed back up again tomorrow hoping that the cloudy day with the front coming in will help them bite a little better. Tight Lines! liphunter 1
Dutch Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Put in at St Pk and fished to Price's Branch. Fished both sides of the lake. 1 early fish on a spinnerbait then nothing on spinner or crank for 3 hours. Threw jigs, lizzards, worms, swim baits and of course the little guy. Wound up with 9 and 8 of them came on Ned. Water temp was a constant 54° visibility to 7' in most places. All but one fish came out of the same cove. It took 3 times fishing it to get the 8 fish but there was no where else to get a bite. The fish were 15-20' deep. Lifes2Short, Rootman, wtr dogs and 1 other 3 1
