Members Tim McDougald Posted August 26, 2019 Members Posted August 26, 2019 From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: A passionate environmental activist who successfully prevented the building of a dam across the Meramec River decades ago died Friday after a bicycle accident. Jerry Sugerman, a lifelong St. Louisan, was riding his bike on Forsyth Boulevard Friday afternoon when he crashed into a bus. Medics put him in an ambulance, but he suffered a heart attack, his wife Darlene Davies-Sugerman said. He was 78. “He was such a nice guy,” Davies-Sugerman said. The two were married for 21 years. “Funny, intellectual, curious, inventive, sincere. He was amazing. I can’t believe I found him ... I didn’t know what a jewel I married at first, because he was quite humble, too.” Read the rest here Brian Jones, Greasy B and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
Greasy B Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 R.I.P. Jerry, we are grateful for your work to save the Meramec River. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
