David Goddard Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 My partner and I headed down to the lake on Monday, the 26th around 11:30 and got on the water just in time for the storm to hit. We hid in an open slip till about 1:30-2:00 o'clock and fished for like 3 hours but still caught 12 keepers and probably had around 12 lbs for the best 5. Almost every fish that we caught was schooling and came on either a spook or a 1.5 square bill. Shad everywhere and fish busting everywhere. Caught them 2 at a time once and had another double where half of it came off. It probably helped that it was cloudy. Top water action was fun but size wasn't great. Had one 18 incher that probably only weighed 2 and a half and lost one at the boat that was a solid 3. These summer bass are so skinny. Fun time, cant wait to get back out there. Tight lines everyone. fishinwrench, snagged in outlet 3, Gavin and 5 others 8

I guess if I had to say I'd pick the lower end but I like the amount of boat traffic much better up any river arm slothman and fishinwrench 2
Johnsfolly Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Congrats guys! Topwater is my favorite way to catch most fish for the pure excitement. Cool double. Have to be in some aggressive fish to get both hooked๐. I've seen it first hand but haven't caught one myself. Hope you can get out again. Looking forward to more reports. David Goddard 1
