I fished out of Coffmann twice last weekend on the Lower end. One day fished up the Gravios a little way. I found the bite to be pretty weird

Friday started out fishing the backs of creeks around the mouth of the Gravios. We caught 5 shorts, a 3.5 pounder, and had a 4 pounder follow my jig up to the boat and not bite. We fished the backs of like 4 or 5 creeks and only caught them in two. I caught a 2 and a half pound keeper and another short in another creek. We then headed out the main lake banks/points that were getting hammered with wind and the typical 5 foot bat traffic waves that LOZ is famous for. We got to see a couple of ships and caught some striped bass (whites.) Justin lost a big walleye on a spinner bait and we caught a few keeper spots. I ended up catching another 3.5 pounder on a squarebill very shallow on a point. Not really a great bite overall but still nice to caught a couple decent ones.

Sunday was our first club tournament of the year out of Coffmann. Me and my partner couldn't get anything going. Caught 2 keeper spots on the main lake. 1 keeper spot in the back of a pocket on a craw and the big one (4.59 lbs) that I caught on a jig flipping docks. That was it. Super tough day. The guys that did well though fished from the mouth of the Gravios to the dam and fished the walkways of docks. Most of them probably came on a shakey head or a jig. They said they caught all of their fish in the morning. Tough bite overall. Tough boat traffic overall. About got my teeth rattled out of my head by some of those cruiser waves. Beats a day in class, though, like right now. Tight lines everyone.

I was up there Sunday graphing around for the Bash between the 2-4mm. I've never really fished that area so needed to get familiar with it since we are staying with a buddy this weekend. We threw spinnerbaits around some wave breaks and some main lake dock ends and caught several 15-17" largemouth along with a few solid kentuckies. Seemed like the docks that were getting blasted the hardest were the ones that held fish. I got the tar beat out of me in my aluminum boat lol.

I'd sure like to find one like your biggest one this weekend. This will be the 4th bash I've fished and I'm still looking for my first check fish.

I haven’t heard. I know a few people are waiting to register to see how the weather plays out because they don’t want to spend yet another BBB fishing in the rain all weekend. I would definitely consider fishing in it, but it is always the first weekend of October and I always have work obligations that weekend every year. I may set up a booth to sell my wares in the spring. Not sure just yet, but I am giving it some consideration.
