They are ALL special.   Both should be protected/respected.  

Actually I'm not so sure that brookies (char) are truly native west of the Mississippi.  Are they?

No, they’re native to NE Iowa and the rest of the Driftless Area as far as I know. Not real up to speed on whether they’ve been reestablished.

Yeah, it’s kinda goes against what you’d assume but those brookies are native to the Appalachians too and extend way down into what you’d think is hot southern water.

I've caught Ga. Brookies from 2 separate watersheds.  Just figured they were stockers like the rainbows below Buford dam.
