Is there Blue Cats in Pomme de Terre Lake?

I have never caught one there.

Probably a few, but it's not known for them.   Musky is the only "special treatment" that Pomme de terre gets.

I understand that the Walleye are doing really well there the last couple years.

If there are any blues in Pomme nobody ever catches them.  Channels and Flathead on Pomme.  Walleye were doing well but 2 years ago over July 4th Holidays there was a die off near the dam.  Th number of big walleye that went belly up would make you cry.  Still walleye there and it is regularly stocked with them so they will be around.  Right now like every else is crappie time, but there is a lot of people out fishing for them right now also.

I’ve always caught Channels pretty regular but Blues I catch plenty in Truman Lake.

Crappie I figure will be hot around the Docks and Cedars.

We were catching some crappie a few days ago off of brush piles that were in about 20' of water some buddies have been catching them off standing timber. As far as blues go I caught one bass fishing last year. Used to be a couple brothers that caught quite a few on trot lines but that's been like 30 years ago.

Ranger520vx that is the first time I have heard of anybody catching a blue cat on Pomme.  Truman and LOZ are loaded with them.  Have seen a few that were channels misidentified but if you say it was I will believe you.  There certainly aren't many caught.

The crappie in Pomme all drowned in the flood of 2019, only ones left alive are in Stockton, Truman and LOZ.😉

I've caught a lot of blues below Truman and I'm sure the one I caught last year was a blue. As far as the two brothers like I said it was a lot of years ago but I remember them bringing in several over 20 lbs. But it was long enough ago I may have been mistaken as to what they were.

Our place at Truman is a mile from the Lake and I enjoy fishing it. Catch plenty Catfish and Crappie. I hate fishing below the Dam just too many people. I have went down to the City Park and enjoyed myself. Place I use to enjoy fishing on the bottom for Catfish at Pomme de Terre they put a bunch of Cedars in there so I can no longer fish the bottom. oneshot

I have heard reports of blue cat caught in PDT but none were ever officially verified. And none in any of the creel census data. However, there are certainly a lot of blues in the Osage River system so it is very possible. The same goes for Stockton lake. I suspect that most of the blue reports are large Male channel cats.
