WoundedOne Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Heading out in the morning and launching at Holiday island. Thank you all for the navigation advise.
WoundedOne Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 @rpsWith this flow how far down would you expect to stop fishing for trout?
rps Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 A few will be as far down as the first bend above the Beaver bridge. I would concentrate on the area above Cow Patty flats. Go up river from Beaver until you find a cow pasture on the right and a right hand turn in the river with a small island just above the turn. From there to the 62 bridge should be full of fish. BTW do not be surprised if you catch a walleye. snagged in outlet 3 1
WoundedOne Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Ian and I got at holiday island at 8 it was cold and windy. Ian is under dressed as usually for the conditions. We made the run up to 62 bridge. Pulled off behind a little slack water where we could throw jigs in on both sides of current. Ian hooked up first with a nice bow. then again a little bit later. I took my fish just floating down and hitting pockets total 4 bows and 1 crappie for me. Ian ended up with some solid bows total 4. Great day very blistery running that far. If i would do it again i would have put in at houseman ramp instead of holiday island. Thank goodness i did not start at eagle rock. we got off the water a 2pm Thanks for all your advise. bfishn, Quillback, BilletHead and 1 other 4
Devan S. Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Sounds like you caught them thanks for the follow up report. My step dad, wife, and I rode from Eagle Rock to Houseman in spring to white bass fish and no sooner did we get there it started torrential rain. Its a long haul that far in pouring rain. Now I just launch at houseman if I want to fish that far up. Although I have paddled a canoe from Houseman to Holiday Island and back once.

How long of a run is it from Eagle Rock to Houseman on water?
