Fished today at the knob vaught caught 12 with 5 keeps.  Jerk bait.   Slime is there it to about 8 feet.   Same at 86 over the weekend.   Water color is clear above the mouth of kings.   Dirty from mouth to pla port.  Didn't go below there

Ultrex comes with a steel cable and it works extremely well if your man enough to lift the motor.  Which I barley am.

the cable on mine was fine.  It just pulled out of the metal stud thing on the end.  I didnt have a small enough allen wrench to tighten it back, so we had to head home.  I will have a spare as well as a set of small allen wrenches on the boat from now on.

Regardless of the make of your troller, and believe me they all can let you down, when you break that cord on any of them or if there is a deployment of reattachment problem your most often in a huge world of Doggy Do Doo.

At least once a week, I will totally look mine over for loose nuts bolts or any fray or problems, and most often I will find I need a minor maintenance adjustment.  I usually wipe it down and wax it and give it a careful lookie loo.

Of course you all know now that we have discussed this we are all in for some type of nightmare.

I have a backup pull cord and the tools to change now.  Along with a replacement prop for it too.
